Down The Long Hills
A short book by today’s standards but a reminder, to me at least, that a good story doesn’t need to be 400 plus pages to be a good novel.
So far I have really enjoyed every L’Amour book I have read and they are easy to get at sales and used book stores cheap but I’m taking my time with them. He wrote over a hundred books but I’m in no hurry to devour them all because I want to keep them fresh. For a lot of years I read Stephen King book after Stephen King book and between the pace he wrote and the pace I read I seemed to always have something to read. Eventually I tired of them and now haven’t read but one or two in the last decade. Maybe it’s time to try another one.
